Come and join Devi and her assistant for these series of workshops. These workshops are for smaller groups ( max 15), with a focus on pulling apart each step, movement and concept, plenty of time for questions, answers, drilling time and personal written appraisals.
There will be 2 teachers present at all times to assist you with all your needs. Once each movement or concept is taught Devi’s assistant will lead you through various drills whilst Devi will take notes for every participant with all steps and concepts covered. She will then offer you personal feedback, points and tips and various exercises that will help you to better understand ATS(r) and your body. After the workshops are over Devi will personally type up your appraisal in a concise and easy to follow format and will email it to you alone.
What will you get out of these workshops?
You will get a written appraisal of all things covered in the workshops ( zill and musicality workshop not included).By having a written appraisal you will be able to see clearly where your strong and weak points are. It can be a lot to take in. As you improve your dance and slowly start to assimilate some of the points and suggestions you can refer back to your appraisal at your leisure.
Don’t be shy! Devi and her assistant will create a warm, friendly and intimate environment for you that will have you feeling confident to ask as many questions as you would like. We are there to help you with all your troubleshooting problems.
We want to create a small and intimate environment where you can meet, dance and get to know the other dancers in the workshop on a more intimate level than you can otherwise have in a larger workshop. We want to help you build your ATS(r) community!
As the participant of these workshops you can choose to do just a few of these workshops or slowly add to the collection and do them all over time.

We will then put this into practice by going over and drilling the steps learnt paying attention to detail for a strong foundation.
The science of ATS(r) Part 2: Foundational slow steps and combinations.
In this workshop Devi will share with you the “Science of ATS(r)” with particular attention on the dynamic tension and resistance/release needed for powerful and breathtaking slow ATS(r). Devi will lead you through various exercises and visualizations to help you get the most out of your slow movement. We will then put this into practice by going over and drilling the foundational slow movements and combinations, paying attention to detail for a strong foundation.

She will then share with you her method of mastering strong and graceful arm lines and an uplifted and open upper body. Starting from your core, we will look at using the larger and smaller muscle groups to create meaning and intention in your arm movements at each moment right through from the center of your body to your finger tips.
Interactive communication: Partnering, formations, cues and transitions.
In this workshop Devi will lead you through the various formations for duet, trio and quartet used in ATS(r) group improvisation as well as movements to change lead ( turning the wheel) and chorus line. If you have ever had any problem thinking on the spot and putting together your ATS(r) steps and combinations Devi will also give you the tools to successfully string together both your fast and slow ATS(r) steps and combinations using simple but effective methods of keeping your improv on track. We will then put all of this into practice using various steps and combinations.
